The coast of New Jersey has an abundance of wrecks to explore. Currents and surge have damaged many of the wrecks but there are still some pretty amazing things to see. AOW certification is recommended. A redundant air source, SMB and audible service signaling device are required on most boats. From June to September, we organize half-day, two tank trips using local dive boats. The typical NJ dive season is June through early October.
In the summer months, the Gulf Stream waters provide warm temperatures, great visibility, lots of tropical marine life and sand tiger sharks. NC wrecks range from purposefully sunk reefs to WWII casualties, including the German submarine U352! Advanced Open Water, specialties and Technical Dive training opportunities. June, July and August are usually ideal for long weekend trips that include lodging and diving.
The St Lawrence Seaway connects the Great Lakes to the North Atlantic. Unlike the lakes, the constant flow of water offers consistent temperatures from late Spring to early Fall at all depths. Many of the wrecks are beautifully preserved and in amazing condition. This is a great trip for Advanced Open Water certification, specialty dives and Technical Diving training. Trips run from Friday to Sunday in June through October, and include accommodations, shore diving and boat dives.
