Who we are
Born and raised in New Jersey, I returned home after a long Army career. I started diving in 1984, and I have explored the wrecks off our coast, dove during my time in service and around the world. To share my passion for the world below, I began teaching as a PADI Instructor in 2020.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I returned home after a long Army career. I started diving in 1984, and I have explored the wrecks off our coast, dove during my time in service and around the world. To share my passion for the world below, I began teaching as a PADI Instructor in 2020.
More than anything else under water, I am fascinated by shipwrecks. Ships lost at sea, and often times in fresh water, can be amazing to visit under water. From the tragic stories of loss, to the amazing life the surrounds the ship's remains, wrecks offer us glimpses of the past and future.
I provide instruction and mentoring in basic SCUBA certification, specialty certifications and Technical Diving.

As in independent instructor, I provide scuba instruction, from basic Open Water Scuba Diver certifications to advanced training for experienced divers.
After certification and for already certified divers, DSS runs trips to New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Carribean destinations. These trips are meant to build diving experience and skills, teamwork and community.

DSS is a Disabled Veteran owned small business, honored to serve those who have served and their families. Active, separated and retired service members can participate in our training and trips oriented to their needs. Diving can provide opportunities for Veterans to work as team, overcome challenges and enjoy a sense of achievement in accomplishing a mission. Our Safety S.T.O.P program is specifically offered to help Veterans with PTSD.
